Need a Spot
Can anyone lead me in the right direction to purchase the fuel filler hose that attaches to the gas tank? I have had no luck with Autozone, Carquest, Napa. It's for a '91 Montero. (Or is there some universal flex hose that can be used?)
Thanks!

Mitsu dealer.
I don't have your vin but based on my limited caps research, there are 3 possible parts depending on which part of the tube you mean.
The part physically attached to the tank is p/n MB554777 which is called a Fuel Filler Hose.

Then there's the next section which is noted as Fuel Tank Soft Vinyl Tube (60x1000) which is p/n MB129146

Then there's the Fuel Tank Hose which is shown as p/n MB595287.

I, too, would recommend new. If you have sticker shock, I have two 91 parts cars that have these parts available. Dealer first with strong consideration, used second until you opt for the new parts.

2" wire reinforced fuel hose. P/N 1045 at NAPA. The smaller one is a ~3/4". I used a multi duty hose from NAPA as well. On the large hose, you'll need to cut the anti-chafe liner to get it to spread around the new hose. It's a slightly larger diameter than the old hose. It's flexy enough to make the bends. Good luck

EDIT: Gave ya the wrong P/N. For the reinforced hose it's an 1130. Sorry.

I used a universal goodyear hose from Advance; had to order online, and it only came in 4 foot lengths, but I believe it was about 50 bucks or so. It was a pain in the arse getting to curve it around the frame, but it finally came together. I'm not sure if there are some brands/types that are more flexible, but the goodyear stuff is pretty tough.

Cheers,

JK

I think I paid $38 bucks/ $10. shipping for my fill hose Mitsubishiparts.com. The hose is a grey "silicon"y" rubber.
I would not use anything for gas but OEM.
