Somebody on here got a swing away gas can carrier that wasn't available on this side of the pond. Mounted the can right above the rear door handle. I haven't come up with a satifactory mount. Wish these Gen 1s had a tailgate like a Rodeo, etc., and swing aways.Maybe they made some of these for elsewhere.

There is a super-rare mitsu gas can holder. Con-ferr had one that bolted to the spare tire mount. Some had made custom ones from the blitz can holders. Someone made a custom hi-lift gas can holder. But there is no mistu specific off the shelf holder for you, well here anyway, maybe in some far away country.
I just want to tell you both good luck, and we're all counting on you.

If you use Nato can's they don't leak fumes and can be kept anywhere. I sometimes have mine on the roof or inside. If it's a Blitz can then they WILL LEAK gas and fumes only too easily and cannot be stored on its side up top or inside and you must use an external carrier of some type. What I've seen are the Blitz carriers bolted onto the rear door above the door handle and the cans strapped onto the carrier.
Also as has been noted if you are lucky enough to find one Confer did offer a blitz carrier that you could bolt just about anywhere (so long as it's out side and right side up). <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

Fleabay has a bunch of jerry and Blitz carriers. They look like they want to be mounted to the rear door. Basically shelves for the cans.

Don't mean to make you guys jealous or anything, but those factory mitsu jerry can holders that mount just above the rear door handle are all over the place down here in Iraq and Kuwait on all the Gen III Pajeros. I see about 30 of them a day just walking to and from places. It is a pretty cool setup. I bought these: WEDCO and they ran out of water cans b/c they are redesigning them to a new design different from the nato style. I liked and wanted the nato style, so I went this these that are shipped from overseas: Here is the overseas provider's web site: web page Here is a distributor for them in the states: web page hope this helps. I am mounting mine on the roof rack on their side in that mount that you can buy on expedition exchange (the first link). My rear door is too heavy already with a 35 x 12.5 spare tire Scottie
