I bought my new tank from these guys Discount Gas Tanks It looks like the price was up to near $200 for a while but now they are offering it at $120!!! I tried the link 3 times and it wouldn't load the page. Do you mind just typing it out or dropping me a PM? The 17G at JCWhitney was $226.

Thanks, guys. I will probably go ahead and spend a few bucks and either get a scrap tank to get the right 17G hardware (guages, etc.) or just buy the stuff. I already have a brand new fuel pump just waiting to be installed anyway.

The link works from this end, but here it is in its full glory. http://discountgastanks.com/search/...1986/PICKUP/RN66/w~_F.I._4_x_4/index.htm<BTW> I used a salvaged fuel pump, but the pump hangar bracket assembly had to be replace because the lines had rusted through where they exit the tank. My local dealer wanted $120, but when I said that I could get it by mail order for $96 they lowered their price to a competitive level.

That link worked. Thanks. Seems kind of excessive for a pump bracket. I know there's a local truck in the yard that has a tank, but it will take a supreme effort to get it out since the truck is sitting on the ground with no axles. May try to find a used one online. I've had pretty good luck with the YotaYard.

I think you will have a hard time getting anyone to ship you a used tank. It has some thing to do with the trouble associated with making it safe to ship (think gasoline). Discount Gas Tanks has cheap shipping <IIRC> on their new tanks. As far as the price of the new bracket goes, I'd try to get that from the Yota Yard or TAP Recycling in California, or Toyota Heaven in Fort Worth,Texas. -- Matt

Toy Heaven in Fort Worth is the one who puts his trucks flat on the ground with no axles. He usually charges about twice the price compared to the Yota Yard. His trucks (only a couple at last visit) are almost completely stripped within a few days because they are rare around here. I agree about the tank shipping. I already asked the Yota Yard for just the gage brackets. Haven't heard back, but it was late yesterday.
