After going through virtually all the parts sites recommended here on the forum, I can't seem to locate one of the 13.7 gallon fuel tanks for my short bed truck. In many cases, they show only one part number and don't even list the tank size. My short bed truck came with either a 14 or 17 gallon tank (52L or 65L) and I have the 14. Anybody know where I can purchase a new tank? Note that the friendly, helpful staff at the local National Tire & Battery is footing the bill since they decided to raise my truck with the shop lift with one of the arms directly under my fuel tank.

JC Whitney lists some replacement tanks...

And you can go with the larger tank if you want. It will hang down about 1" farther for the added capacity but otherwise bolt right up. And with the body lift, you could raise the tank up above the frame rails:

$259 at 1sttoyotaparts.com

I'd post a pic of my screenshot, but FTP is broke at work.

Looks like $360 for the bigger one.

Thanks for the info, guys. I was unaware that the bigger tank would fit. As a side note, when I tried the toyoDIY parts lookup site, it ONLY shows the 65L tank, but the OE number doesn't match the numbers at a couple of the parts sites.

Now, does going to the 17 gallon tank mean I can still use my existing float gage and pump assy (i.e., will it fit the larger tank)?

Much obliged for the quick responses!

Not sure on the float or the pump bracket. It may need to have a taller bracket added onto the pump to sit at the bottom of the tank.

Pump bracket for the larger tank is longer. You could use the shorter one and have a larger reserve.

Hmmmmm.... Seems like that reserve may only be available while going around a corner really fast if the pump won't reach it!

Keep in mind that your gauge may not read correctly too - I'm not sure about this.
I DO know that when I swapped my gauge cluster in my non-SR5 4Runner for the SR5 one, it changed; my guage now goes all the way to the botto, and stays there for another 1/4-ish of a tannk before the light comes on and it's actually empty. I'm guessing this is b/c it's calibrated for a smaller tank (I must have the 17 gal)

With 200+ Billion electrical parts, the world most complicated machine is inside your own skull.

Question Reality.
