Need a Spot
Ok I am eyeing on this 1992 Pajero
http://vancouver.en.craigslist.ca/cto/854201859.html
it is selling for $7200

I don't have a mechanic I can trust for maintaining any issues with the car

any suggestion as to where to go (private mechanic or a shop)? someone who is honest and know the way in a Pajero at a reasonable rate?

Thank you
I have been contemplating for a Pajero for over a year now. but still couldn't justify if it is worth it or is it going to get me a lot of trouble. and also shopping around for a good condition pajero

I have seen this Pajero at Costco in Langley. It looked not bad. I would highly recommend CVI motors in Richmond (they are awesome and really know their stuff when it comes to these vehicles). You should have been around two weeks ago when I sold mine (it was a way better deal than this one).

Pardon the partial hijack but does anybody know of good Pajero mechanics/shops in Ontario - Ottawa would be good, but Toronto or even Montreal would be OK

Get a list of things that are needing work on the Pajero. Go to CVI and get a price to do the work. Make your informed decision. Enjoy your new to you Pajero. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

Or you could wait a couple of months and buy one that doesn't need work... my shorty will be available for sale probably in December... all maintenance done, new brakes all around, timing belts done, only thing that doesn't work is AC.

but i digress...

All the Deli guys recommend CVI as well... those guys have quite the rep. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

Oh, MAN! $4,500 it is like for free!
Mine was $8,000 from Japan.

Brakes and ball joints are normal "tear and wear" stuff and ANY mechanic with two hands can do it.

But still I would take it to CVI or Mardy for inspection.

Good luck, and stop thinking about Civic!
You cannot even park them near by to compare <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />

One that's priced so low and the ad says def. needs work it may be a can of worms.

I would not buy it without having a good competent mechanic check it out.
