After 2 bad heads from the rebuilder, I get #3. It looks good. I have it installed.

20 miles or so down the road, I hear expensive noises from the top of the engine. Back to the mechanic. Here is what we find:

What I noted immediately is that two of the exhaust rockers had migrated forward and were touching the intake rocker tips, resulting in the expensive sounds. As best I can tell, no damage has been done so far. But it is apparent that the head was assembled incorrectly and the wrong springs were used.

Can anyone tell me if the exhaust rocker shaft is supposed to have different length/wire diameter springs from the intake? It looks like the exhaust springs would need to be longer/stiffer to do the job, and I think the guy who built this head mixed them up.
