Need a Spot
Hey everyone.... I have a '01 Rodeo Sport that I want to convert from a soft top to a hard top. Has anyone performed this before? I have already purchased the top, but now realize I need the back glass also. Does the soft top rear door have a way to install the glass, hardware and wiring or do I need to use the door with the hardware already installed? I would like to keep my rear door if possible, since I just had it repainted... Also, is there wiring in the car already for the rear glass defroster and brake light in the top? What about the rocker switch in the dash? I have the switch, but not sure if the vehicle has a pre-wired connection for it. If so, where is it located and is it labeled?

Thanks for the help anyone. smile

Body Damage is Cool
I would be surprised if it wasn't prewired . . . but I've been surprised before.

A little late for A response I suppose.

Most likely the wiring is there.

You should be able to use the existing rear door. If you look at the rear door panel there are 4 circles that look out of place like they should have a bolt going through them. On the hard tops they do have 4 bolts going through. There are hole in the door frame with nuts welded in to attached the rear window to. Drill holes and bolt the window in with the factory parts.

Tech tip: on soft top vehicles if you"ve had the rear panel off so many times you've broken all the little plastic snaps. Drill out these holes and attach with bolts and washers.

I have a 2002 RODEO SPORT soft top. If I get a hardtop for it will it fit and seal properly? Also, can a window be installed on the existing tailgate or do I have to replace the entire gate/rear window all together?
