Can't find the Korean company with the lockers and gears on the web anymore?? Was thinking about the gears they were selling. Anyone have an active link?

Everet,

The web site was www.trackfinder.co.kr.

Here is another company that might be able to get them.

the Miata LSD works in the front. it is confirmed. for over 2 years now.

you can get more flex in the front if you drop the top strut mount 1" and cut 2/3 of the bumpstop out.

the Eaton LSD is the only thing available in the US for the rear.

most US models came with 4.78 gears and there is nothing lower available here.

the 5.38 gears and greek and korean lockers have to be purchased from those companies and may require some sort of translation. so far, i have not seen suitable translation nor have been able to suitably communicate with either of them....

is the miata lsd a direct bolt in affair, or is there some sort of modifications required to make it fit? as well, what year etc was used, do you know?

who was it that did the swap successfully? perhaps they have some information to share.

it was me. i know it fits, i know it works and yes, it is a direct bolt-in job.

a member here bought the differential from a guy that lived near me, i went and picked it up and tried it out in my front diff while i had it out after my axle swap. it works, i tell ya, it works!

Dave,

How well did it work? Any info on that LSD would be great. Maybe I can find one locally that I can pull and drop into the front end.

Thanks.

haha, were you holding out on us dave! i figured this would have been widely spread knowledge that it worked!

i had read that people were attempting it, but dont recall anyone saying it worked.

a little late for me now, i would have done it along time ago! but hopefully everyone else can attempt to jump on this!

i didn't actually run it, just bolted it in to the housing, stuck the shafts in, spun it by hand, etc, so, i don't know how well it locks up, but if you search in here, there is a whole thread about it with pics and everything....

from like 2 years ago....

so, no, i wasn't holding out....

Dave,

Thanks. I'll look around to see what I can find on here as well as in the local salvage yards. I'd love to have at least some form of traction aid in the front end. Winter is comming and winter wheeling is lots of fun around here.

An LSD works better in the snow than a full locker anyway.

If a Miata works, I believe that a 87 non-turbo rx7 should work according to some miata web sites. It has clutches and can be rebuilt with aftermarket parts.
Still looking for another wrecked Sportage so I can pull the diff out and set it up... can't afford to have the sportage down too long. Want to be able to pull the one out and just pop the new one in.

I thought i read somewhere that there was a lsd option for the sportage. I thought front and rear. But i haven't found replacement parts on any of the parts sites. Just wondering.

I bought a rear LS from Everet a while back and just to get info I called a 4wd shop that has set up gears for me before. He called Eaton and they told him they no longer make parts for it. I called the Kia dealer and they told me they needed my vin#, I told them I bought it used and they said they could not help me then. There is nothing wrong with the LS I was just trying to find stiffer springs.

I found a 95 Sportage in a wrecking yard close to me that I have been getting a few odds and ends from. I asked about the front diff in hopes to find a Miata Torsen LS. They want $250.00 for it, I want to find a Mazda unit first before I pay that much. When I find an affordable Mazda unit I will let everybody know how it works. If someone beets me to it let me know how it works .
