Roll Me Over

This is Fasteddy, attempting to rip the roof off a SWB to extract the driver when he rolls over on his side. The next picture in the sequence shows how he breathes fire and shoots lightning bolts from his arse! Superhero, he is I tell ya! And a damn fine friend
Fasteddy's advice is occasionally sound...

I picked up another ECU today from a 90 V6 auto and the numbers are different and the thickness is less on the 90. I havent put it in yet but I hope it works. Even though there are a few differences I cant see how it would run an 89 with the same motor and tranny.

Quit throwing parts at it. Pay my gas and I'll check it out, and fix it if it's broke, if you like my price.
Take the 90 ecu back at get your $ back. Not compatible as is, though there is some rumor that it can be "made" compatible by clipping out one 'lectron thingy and maybe changing the ROM with your 89 ROM.
I'll pm my cell number.
And John, if I'm gettin' senile (I'll accept "old"), WTF do you call me to ask me what's wrong with your's...
Want to help me with CW's problem, so you won't have to call me to fix it when it happens to yours??

Alrighty, the '90 ecu did not turn the truck on so I will need an '89 specific ecu for a v6 auto. Anybody have a lead on one? I can supply you with a '90 ecu and cash to split the difference!
Thanks

Get yours rebuilt. The caps are all that ever goes wrong with them, unless the capacitor juice ate too much board trace. Search for the preferred rebuilder...

The truck runs rich as $&*@ and now the battery is dead after driving it home from work. Why is(was) your battery dead? I read in another one of your posts that your lights were dimming while you were driving...is a different problem (charging/low voltage) being masked by the symptoms you've got?
1989 Mitsubishi Montero SWB 0.0L (3.5L soon?) Auto, Front LSD, Rear SR Locker, Aisin hubs, Safari Snorkel, ARB Front Bumper, Warn M8000, Bushwacker Flares 1984 Mitsubishi Montero 2005 Dodge SRT-4 1970 Plymouth 'Cuda (in pieces) ...and a few others less interesting.

Replaced the alternator and made a huge ground strap and that problem went away. Zuk, I called the shop to get the numbers back to me tonight. Again, the ecu looks clean but its the only other thing I think it could be. It was intermittant and then progressively got worse which sounds like what people were having with ecu issues but I didnt discover any leaky caps. I'm used to looking at the when I had my GVR-4. I think maybe the injector driver is failing in the ecu.

Nate speaks! I'd listen. His neon is about 350hp, and his swb is Powell's old Shogun that my son was driving.
