They were known as a king cab, IIRC. There used to be an '82 in the junkyard up here with a 20R in it. If you can get the VIN, see if it's loaded on Carfax for a summary.

Here in CA they were called Custom Cab's, as with the Trailblazer and Trekker more than one company did the conversion.
Basically they just stretched the frame and added extra seating.
You really can't get that much appreciation for their length from the photo, but they are about 3' longer than the standard cab/bed.
It is going to take some work to restore, there looks to be radiator support/radiator/inner fender damage, likely bent frame right behind the drivers tire, I imagine the front of the engine may be damaged as well. It is all fixable, just wont be a quick fix.
Depending the price, and your plans it could be a nice to platform to rebuild.
More than tread lightly. Leave it like you were never there, nor anyone else. '90 X-cab 4.88's 33 BFG AT's, rr ARB, Headers, Ignition upgrade, cold air induction. '91 X-cab 5.29's 315's BFG MT's, rr ARB, custom bumper and flatbed

Body Damage is Cool

There's actually an 85 that lives out in Grizzly Flat that is the coolest one I've ever seen. 85 (solid axle), absolutely mint, bright red, and it has a custom shell that matches the bumped section of the rear cab.

thanks for the info, i'm still deciding on if i'm going to buy it, its $1500 and its crashed you can see, although it does have going for it a nice solid frame and 59,000 miles, i've fixed worse wrecks and i've got all the parts. thats cool they actually lengthend the frame to build it, I had never seen anything like it.
