Getting the Wheeling Fever
I expect everyone here has seen my project, but to recap: I have a 92 4JG2 fit into a 91 Trooper. In doing the conversion, I have gone with a K&N pod filter for air intake. I would like to use a more substantial setup, some sort of enclosed unit that I could eventually build to use a snorkel or some sort of fresh air intake.

Can anyone suggest an enclosed air cleaner setup that will fit in the 91 Trooper? For short term I may modify the original 4 cyl setup but that was designed for a motor that is 1L in displacement smaller, I'm heasitant to go with the c223 setup as it was designed for a smaller unit too (plus, they seem to be hard to find/expensive). I may go to my local heavy equipment dealer and see what they have for a tractor of some sort, but I'm hoping someone here might have a suggestion that I haven't thought of yet.

Suggestions?

Thanks,
Paul

Need a Spot
Have you thought about one of these http://www.knfilters.com/universal/apollo.htm

Could use as a cold air intake and I guess should hook up to a snorkel

Thanks! Glad I asked the question - I hadn't seen that until now. I think that might just be my answer.

Paul -

I wouldn't worry about the flow rate of the C223 unit - the intake hose from the 4JB1 is the same diameter as the hose on the C223 air cleaner housing, and I've had no problems with air restriction. Also, it bolts right in (although I had to notch the lid to rotate it for proper alignment with the 4JB1 intake hose path).
