Quote
FTW = For the win, or For Teh Win (The being intentionally misspelled)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_slang

Originated in First person shooters where the person who "captured the flag", or completed the mission would type something like ..........

"LANDRAIDER FOR TEH WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111" (with the 1's being put there on purpose, OR put there because you are pumped on adrenaline that your fine motor skills are being impacted.

THIS ALL BEING SAID.......
These are the rules

Specifically "If you really want an informed and well-thought answer to your question, PLEASE attempt to follow the conventions of spelling, punctuation, and sentence structure. We do not speak in #'s and symbols here, so no L337speak please. To make a reader wade through a full paragraph with no punctuation and frequent spelling errors is taking their help for granted. "

In a case like this, I think it's perfectly acceptable because

#1 the poster is educating all of us on a subject
#2 it's certainly not excessive leetspeak
#3 it's a well thought out post with good information written in a manner that is easy to read.

Good post CoChese. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />
