Need a Spot

Heres the deal, 1996 T100 3.4 4x4 110,200 miles great truck. Today went to start and no noise nothing at all... Starter was rebuilt 2000 miles ago. Moved shift lever around and it fired right up. Has done this twice.. Sound like linkage worn or park/neutral switch ??. Is there a way to check switch ??. Also by the way just put on Michelan ltx.ms tires 31x10.50s and love them..
