Here is how I mounted mine when I first got my truck. It is a piece of .120 aluminum plate that I bent to the contour of the roof and it is mounted with the same screws as the mirror. I glued some gray carpet on it to match the headliner. I also spaced the CB mount down with a piece of finished Oak that is 1 x 1. Worked great and was very solid.
