Nice looking truck , I am also in located in Minneapolis (North) and when I need something fixed on the Monty ( I am far from being a mechanic) I take my truck to a mechanic in my neighborhood who used to work for Toyota, so working on Mitsubishi's are no problem for him. His name is Nghia and he owns Nghia's Auto Service on the SE corner of 42nd Ave. N. He has always done a good job (my truck is there as we speak to have the drive shaft worked on) and his prices are very fair. He is a very popular guy and his shop is always busy, so sometimes it takes him a while to get things done, but as stated before, I personally have had no problems. Hope to see ya around Minneapolis some time!

Timing belt, v-belts, water pump, and thermostat done. Turns out the crank has dropped enough to keep the front main leaking a bit. I topped her off, and got about 120 miles before I had to put in 1/4-1/2 quart. All in all very manageable, should be just fine for the winter. It was literally gushing before the seal was replaced so I'm happy overall. Idles and drives a lot nicer, heat is great.

I've been meaning to try cleaning the connections on mine, but since it sounds like there are two, and neither are making any noise I think something else might be wrong. If someone else is clammering for them, no need to hold them for me. I'll let you know

No, horns aren't big movers. I'v replaced one on my first Montero 13 years ago. Check for corrosion first, I solved some horn problems on my full size Dodge trucks by using WD40 liberally, then by using air horns and a remote switch.
