For S & G's, I called these guys.
Guy was a little dicy on where the block/head actually come from, all I could pin him down to was "China"... "oh yeah, but many of the small parts are made here in the US, like the chain and gears and stuff". Claimed they've been selling for 3 years w/o problems. Warranty is parts only, 1 year, and MUST be installed by certified mechanic (e.g. provide SAE #). W/ full upgraded metal gasket kit for $1550+ride.

See, this is what I was thinking about. Something for under $2000 that will last a few years till I do something else. It might just be what I'll get. I want to thank all of you here for the replys and ideas. I have a friend who has been working on foreign cars and trucks in his own business for 30 years, and he will put the motor in for me for free. I use to be able to do it, but I have had 9 shoulder surgreys.
