Need a Spot
I'm having a problem with my power locks. A few weeks ago I changed the battery in my key fob. This was the ONLY thing I had done before this problem started. Now the fob and the inside swtich will only work to unlock the doors, not lock. If a door is open and I try to lock the door it beeps at me, but when the doors are all closed, then nothing. Is there something I could have done just replacing the battery in the fob, or is there more to it? I even dug the old battery out of the trash and tried it, and tried the other fob, but same results. Thanks for any suggestions!

Need a Spot
A few months ago the fobs on my '99 4Runner started getting funky and changing batteries didn't help. Locking was definitely more difficult than unlocking. Finally I took the fob apart and bent the spring contacts on both fobs to grip the battery more tightly. That fixed them both. Had to do the same thing to my garage door opener of about the same age a few months prior to that. That's how I got the idea. I think the contacts just lose springiness as they near the decade mark.
