I upgraded the following OEM parts on my '88 4-banger:

Gen I V6 swaybar (stiffer, holds roll better)

Gen I V6 front brakes (I did disks, caliper brackets, and shields - did not do booster...it still brakes much better...and 88 calipers are the same as Gen I V6 calipers)

Gen I V6 chin skid (allows more air for cooling)

Gen I V6 front diff, axles, and mounts (to install the front ARB)

Gen II upper control arms (corrects camber when doing a t-bar lift, is easier on your CVs, and gives more flex when no swaybar installed)
