Well, here a few pics of a sideways bench. ![[Linked Image]](http://i460.photobucket.com/albums/qq328/WSDave/Raider/IMG_2445.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](http://i460.photobucket.com/albums/qq328/WSDave/Raider/IMG_2446.jpg) This is about as minimal a bench as you will find. When I sat in it, my feet stuck out over the halfway mark. You'd have to have people sitting opposite each other literally alternate there leg placement. I can see why these are used in troop situations: Troops can't tell you to go hang yourself. If the Raider were 6" wider, it would probably work. As it is, I wouldn't put my family back there.

I am in need of some help, having only ever owned a Raider. How many kids can you realistically fit a first gen LWB back seat? I have one in a booster, one in a forward facing, and would need space for an infant rear facing.
Anyone with direct experience/pics? If not, can someone get me the rear seat dimension measurements from armrest to armrest? I believe if there is 53+" I can make it work...
Thanks. I have the first gen LWB and see no problem with space for three. When you find that still a problem then install the two rear seats. As far as I know the First Gen have two rear seats. At least all I have seen here in Europe. In the states I do not know. I can fit up to seven beef eaters with no problem.

WagonMaster, don't you wnat to go with a third row bench? Can't fit a 3rd row in a SWB. At least, I wouldn't put anyone I care about into any 3rd row that would fit in a SWB. As I've been saying, though; the Gen I LWB would easily accommodate a thrid row, including shoulder belts.

No third rows in a Gen I in the US. None it Gen II until 94. Are you sure? Somebody should check under the carpet of their Gen I LWB and see if there are weld-nuts for the seat brackets to bolt into. If not, then this probably wasn't a US option. My pics of Burtha, while not specifically focused on that area, don't look like there is a bolt down location in the area of where the seat tracks are. If it uses the tie-down points, the bolts are 2mm smaller in diameter than the seat bolts. Not that the seat would break free in a crash and kill all the occupants in the entire vehicle forward of the rear seat (which has intigrated seatbelts which will go flying with the seat). I'm just saying that the bolts are smaller. And the fold-down aspect won't work with the rear hatch closed. Look close at the picture and you'll see that the entire backrest sits further back than the rear bolt-down location. The tie-down points are at the very rear of the vehicle. I can't say for sure that this isn't legit, but if it is, it sure is a bad design. This actually looks more like someone took a 3rd row seat from a Caravan and built their own brackets to make it fit a Gen I. If so, they get props for creativity, but slapped in the head for execution.

Well, I just call the person who has it for sale. He said it was an option from Mitsubishi and there are hole for the tracks to bolt up to. The nuts are welded to the floor on the underside. I'd check my Monty, but it still has the bed in place. Alway ready for an overnighter, fishing or off road trip.

Been a long day of raking in the cold with flurries and a storm coming. I'm running a little stupid. I thought this was on you LWB...
As for SWB and jumpers, I picked up a set from the back of a Ranger. They are pretty neat and have the lap belts (not 3-point) already built in. It set them in though and they sit too high. They could be reworked, but I think that the time that would take is not worth it. I'll build some that fit exactly the way I want.

You know, not that you post that, I remember finding it myself. Don't know how I did, given the distance from me...???
