Thanks guys. I'll take a look tonight when I get off work. I was just looking in the repair manual and couldn't find what you're describing. Is it called something else?

The stop bolt is on the front side of the spindle, under the arm where the tie rod attaches. The stop plate is on the lower a arm. The only pic I find is in the front axle section on the spindle disassembly section, and that only show the stop bolt location. I find no image of the stop plate. I swear I saw the lube stuff in the lube/maint. section, but maybe it's in the owner's manual. Way too much stuff in my head...

That was exactly what I was looking for. I wonder if that is a part that can be ordered from a dealer. A small plastic grommet shouldn't be all that expensive and a better repair every so many years rather than months or weeks.

A dab of grease every few weeks is usually free coming from the tub I have in the garage....

Fasteddy's advice is occasionally sound...

For $20 then, I'd first try cutting a piece of hose slightly longer than the stop-bolt. Slip it over the bold and see how long it lasts. That is, if you don't want to do the grease bit. For that matter, how many seconds a year do you spend at full steering lock anyway?
