Take a bottle of Dasani and pour it on the coil bracket the next time it won't crank. Has to be Dasani...

This will check for a thermal fault.

My bet is the caps in the ecu just starting to leak. We've seen this a LOT of times... Check for fishy smell in the ecu, under the glovebox.
