Obama could tax the 'rich' in the U.S. to give to the 'poor and middle class', and probably will try to if elected. But will someone then decide that we should become a better member of the international community and tax all of us 'rich Americans' to benefit the 'poor and middle class' of the world?

I am not a Obama supporter but I question this. I have heard him say tax the income that the rich make iver 250000 at a higher rate. What I have not heard him say is the give to the poor and middle class part. I may have missed it easily but can you point me to a vid of him saying he was going to give money to them.

I've seen him say "share the wealth" a number of times...that's bad enough.

Earn yours, let them earn theirs.

Maybe that is what he means let them all earn it instead of some people making a salary that is undiserved while the same company says they do not make enough to pay fair salaries to lower workers.

Should a low level janitor make as much as a CEO? No!

Where the problem kicks in is who should decide what the fair salaries and Taxes should be.

It needs to be up to the company to decide what is deserved. The day the government starts down this road we will all have undeserved salaries. (except those whose votes they want to buy.) If a janitor, receptionist, bean counter, etc. feel they are not making enough then they just need to let their feet do the talking. I work in the steel industry and although the economy is on the slide there is still plenty of opportunity out there. I work for one of the largest companies in the country and even in this "bad" economy had a better offer from a smaller company. Like the example I gave above I too will let my feet do the talking. That's what makes this country so great.

I thought we were already full steam into wealth redistribution with the ALREADY failed corporate socialist ponzi scheme AKA bailout that both of these clowns voted for?

But why have just boring old socialism? Why not have a whopping scoop o' inflation with that too?

Cuz the catch is that in the last S...credit in the banking system since 1913.

We are so screwed.

Great post and classic, I bet the waiter really doesn't like the idea of his wealth being redistributed.

The thing is that if you take all of the incomes above $250k, and added them up, you couldn't tax them enough to pay for any new/old programs, this is the fallacy behind the De3ms tax the rich propaganda, and they know it. The only way Obama's share the wealth plan could work is to redistribute the wealth of the middle-class to the lower classes, making everyone poor except the ruling class, no different then Communism/Fascism/Socialism/Dictatorship/Feudalism when practiced on a national level.

I have no problem with cutting the salaries of corporate executives when their company has to be bailed out. I wouldn't just cut their salaries to the level of the Janitor, but mandate that they had to work for the company at that pay until the company repaid the bailout money. It would be pay based on their past performance, and punishment for running the corporation into the ground.

I love the POST! I have already voted (early). All I know Obama has said alot of things but I have NO IDEA where the funding for all these great plans is coming from? He has this health care Idea but does not say anything of the cost. McCain also has a plan ( which isn't great) but at least you have an idea of cost-I.E. Tax break and also taxing healthcare. And YES I VOTED McCain!!! I am a Military Vet. and anyone that was in the Military would be crazy to vote the other way. Military funding goes away when Democrats in the office...

Carter made some serious miltary pay increases when I first joined, and got the military back above the poverty line.

I was not trying to say the Gov should say what the wages should be. I was stating what the fair/deserved wage and what is actually paid are different things.
