Kind of like the 20% of the people who do 80% of the work.

Carter made some serious miltary pay increases when I first joined, and got the military back above the poverty line.

I will grant that Carter began the process of "pay compatibility" between military pay and civilian salaries.

I was there and experienced that move. I was also there when military programs were cut to the point enlistments and retention tanked.

Department of Defense civilian workers began experiencing "reduction in force" moves due to budget cuts.

Regan and his mythical "Star Wars" program turned the downward spiral on military spending and readiness.

Clinton picked up where Carter left off. Raised military pay and gutted military spending. Clinton and Gore with their infamous "reinventing government" wasted billions of dollars and downsized the military.

There is something fundamentally wrong with increasing military pay while cutting military spending. Look at the historic number of people in the military and match those numbers with the election cycles.

Too many people have come of age in times where money was readily available.

Few remember interest rates approaching 20% and unemployment rate over 10%.

Those days are coming....

Unfortunately all of the middle-class is going to see their wealth redistributed, not just those that voted for Obama.

More than tread lightly. Leave it like you were never there, nor anyone else.

The boss and I were just discussing about how to redistribute our wealth this afternoon.

Time to buy some reloading equipment while you can. Don't mind the gun laws; mind those for manufacturers and for ammo.

Friend of mine yesterday said either way we're headed towards socialism, the difference being in the rate that we get there.
