Before you all kick in with any election gripes, let me say the Melbourne Cup has been run on the first Tuesday in November for 115 years, and We GET THE DAY OFF! The Race that stops the nation brings in horses from around the world, lots of Irish, Japanese, New Zealand horses and trainers. It also makes everybody an expert on horses, too many fools will tell you why their favorite will win.


On the election build-up, how is saturated is the coverage on TV? Even here we see the rallys and baby kissing!

What sux being in Alaska is that the polls are still open here, and closed with results coming in east of the Mississippi- very hard to get people motivated to head to the polls after dinner when they're seeing the results on the news. Polls close at 8 pm.

That is why Presidential results shouldn't be made until Wednesday evening, and made like a Presidential Address, even the exit polls shouldn't be allowed to ask about the Pres. Candidate you voted for.
