Bought a dead Trooper about 2 years ago with good intentions. Pulled the engine at that time, just now putting it back together!
On the same wiring harness strand that goes to the starter I have the positive cable, one wire going to the solenoid, and an additional wire I don't yet know where it plugs in to. This wire has a square black plastic connector on it with a single flat cooper male blade contact inside. Any help where it plugs in to? Second wiring issue is on the passenger side of engine compartment. All wires accounted for except a flat, bare exposed connector with a single hole in it, this has several wires running in to it. I assume it's a ground that simply bolts to a stud? Help appreciated, need to get this thing out of the garage! Thanks

Dawned on me later I had not included the engine info...duh. Had a 2.8 5 speed, now a 3.1.

What color wire is the one with black plastic encased spade connector? The loop connector sounds like a ground and definitely needs to be found a good, clean, happy home.

OK, the spade connector is a black wire with a white stripe. There are only three wires in this harness, covered with that hard black plastic conduit for lack of a better word. This unidentified spade connector exits the loom near the front of the engine, leaving the positive cable and one solenoid wire going to the starter. On the other wire I questioned, it enters the engine bay from the firewall right behind the cruise control. Large loom coming through the firewall and this mystery wire splits off alone right at the firewall. Four wires laid flat, joined in to a single flat connector. Looks as though it was routed near heat due to the wrap being shriveled. These wires are white with black stripe, white with blue stripe, white with green stripe, and a brown with I think green spots on it.
Wish I could find another 91 locally to look at but pretty uncommon in this area. Thanks

The single wire on the left side goes to a connector on a wire that emerges from the wire loom running behind and below the left headlight. The 4 wires joined to one connector need to be grounded to the engine block on the right side.

Buy a Trooper. You'll be glad you did.

Thanks for the help guys. Found my missing connector so I'm one step closer to bringing this Trooper back to life.
