Installed new upper and lower ball joints (Toyota parts)on my 87 4Runner. Now my camber is now off and different left and right. Toe in is off also, but only a little. I want to try the shade tree alignment I've seen here on the web.
1) How to check caster?
2) FSM shows the direction to move cams for 'increase' and 'decrease'. I think the illustration shows the driver side, so I assume the opposite direction for the pass side? Probably dumb question. When they say 'increase, they mean wheel tilting in at top/out at bottom?
3) How much travel is the in these cams? What is a small or large adjustment as far as degrees of movement of the indicator dot/hole on the cam ?
I'd like to give it a go myself as my past experience has not been good with tire/alignment fools around here.
Anyone know where the article I saw a few years ago may be that shows one guy's method involving bending some sheet metal to a right angle and putting it against the front wheels. If I remember correctly that write up looked pretty good.
Situation now is the front right seems to have too much camber and the left has almost none (measuring with a level against the wheel).
Truck pulls to the right and has a wobbly feel sometimes. Feels like the right side.
