Speaking of the Honeypot, I need advice on what direction and parts I should get for her.

She will be a farm vehicle (farms in Panama are very hilly, unlike the US), and will haul people and supplies to/from town (20 miles). I don't really do any off-roading (in fact, I currently own a Cherokee, Comanche, and Raider, and have never been off-road ), so I probably don't need any hard core build up parts or suspension lifts. I guess I'll probably just need to replace the weak links, as getting parts there may be a problem.

Advice, no matter how silly, is encouraged.

Thanks,
Wagon Master

What sized tires do you plan to run? Will the roads on the farm be bumpy? Plan to carry heavy loads? I guess hauling people and gear could be considered heavy.

Good set of Shocks (KYB) maybe you should take the LWB coil springs out of the rear of bertha and install in the Honeypot along with a set of KWB's to firm up the suspension a bit and give you a bit more load carrying capacity.

Also install the steering box from bertha into the honeypot along with the pitman..LWB has bigger shaft, is heavier duty and easier to steer.

Well, if things go well, I'll be running whatever tires fit on the 93 SR rims.

Roads on the farms? There are no roads on the farm. Heck, there's barely roads in town. Lots of deep potholes, though. Lots. Deep.

Loads will be about 600# worth of people, plus 250# of gear. Maybe some towing. Maybe a 100# winch hanging off the front or rear.

Do I remember correctly that I should be using Gen II rear shocks? Or are those the ones that fall out?

Thanks

The thing that suppossedly fall out are the gen 2 Coil springs they give you lift and load capacity but are a bit shorter. Frank and a few others here run the Gen1 LWB coils in their SWB. Shocks wont interchange betwen gen 1 and 2 due to different mounts.

Sounds like your going to put the suspension through a workout. Good shocks and the LWB springs will probably do you well. I also think you should put in some sort of traction aid in the rear end if you don't already have one..get a Mitsu LSD out of the yard and install it in your rear diff..Bertha looks like the bare bones model so she probably doesn't have one..but honeypot might already have it.

Well, i though I had put a traction aid in, but it turns out it was an LSD flashback.

Seriously though, Honeypot has LSD already.
