Anyone running this size on their rig? Comments?
There is 0 difference (close to) in rotation. I am thinking this would give a wider tire footprint without a down side.
Any ideas?
Thanks

I had what I think was 275/65/15's on an 85 4wdpu, and they worked fine until you needed more tread depth. Wonderful in the corners. Monty has much bigger wheel wells than the pu. I had very minor fitment issues which got resolved with a 2x4 stud and a little leverage.

Pete,
The 265 is just the metric equivalent of a 31-10.5. The sidewall may be somewhat stiffer. I had one customer with two Ford Rangers 4x4s, he had slighlty more mileage from the 265's over the 31's with similar usage. FWIW.

Note, he's talking 275. (More like 29".)

A 265/75-15 would be the rough equivalent to a 31x10.50.
BTW, the 275 number has more to do with the section (tread) width than the height, although it does factor into height....
Fasteddy's advice is occasionally sound...

I had a friend that had that size on a stock pathfinder. Its mainly a lowrider tire and fantastic for picking up nails and such off the street (10.46x29.6-15)While they would give you more "footprint" for the same diameter, what good does that do? Only helpful for soft sand and snow. If you are going offroad, go with a different size. Wide tires are a liability in a majority of offroad situations in CA

Wide tires are a liability in a majority of offroad situations in CA Huh?!? Can you qualify your statement there?

Note, he's talking 275. (More like 29".) Pete inquired about 265/70-15. Fasteddy talked about his 275/65-15. These two tires have a similar diameter, different width.

Not many donuts with anything but street, maybe rain, tread.
Mine was much more trail agile on 205-80-15's with mud grip tread, but it was a lot of fun to do donuts on the job site mud with the carb 2.6 on the wide street rubber, and the side grip in the twisties on pavement was phenomenal. I had NO trouble cornering with rx7's or beemers at their limit on the tootsie rolls. You could slip across the change from understeer to oversteer by just getting into and out tf the throttle.
