Yo guys tomorrow Im picking up a 1990 V6 Mighty Max 4x4. This isn't my first forte into mitsu 4x4. Though this is my first dealings with the v6's so heres my questions.

1. Any major problems I should be aware of on the V6's i know the valve cover gaskets go bad often and they leak oil any way to remedy that besides changing out the gaskets?

2. I know theres a difference between the V6 monte's and the 4cyl as far as axles and brakes but how about the hubs? I have a set of superwinch manual hubs that came off of my 4cyl truck and am wondering if they would swap over.

3. Cheap/Effective ways to make power out of the 6g72? Any thing? Ive dealt with the g54b's and the 4g64's never the V6's. I do plan on doing an exhaust set up (my inner redneck thinks I need some noise to accompany the truck) What size? Id liek to run duals or as close to duals as I could and figure nice 2.5 would be great your input?

4. Anyone want to pick me up a set of gen2 UCA?? at the yard let me know

Hmm, does that imply the DOHC isn't as much? Any thoughts between the 3.0 12V and 24V.

24 valve and 3.5 dohc have a higher H.P. and torque band,,,not as good for crawling.

Valve guides and leaky valve covers and , important!, harmonic balancer bolt and higher torque upgrade.

Most anything from the stock sohc12v 3.0 to the 3.8 will bolt up. I don't think I've ever seen the engine compartment of a gen2 pu. Think you've got room for a turbo on the pside? And I find NO lack of grunt in the 3.5 SR crawling.

I find the idea of a v6 big block pu nice...

agreed.

i guess i should state my perception might be slightly skewed regarding the sohc vs. dohc coming from the 3000gt world.

Check the motor mounts every V6 i've owned they have never been changed and are broken and the only thing holding everthing together is a worn out tranny mount. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/scared.gif" alt="" />
