Harmonic balancer problem has been dealt with already
Will check motor mount thanks for the heads up
Problem(s) needing to be dealt with gas tank stockers full of stalagtites what to do? Ignition Lock (the place on the steering wheel were you put the key to turn on the truck) is broke do have a 91 2wd 2.4 truck are they swappable? Do realize that would require redoing the door locks also
pretty happy with it all in all bought it for 400 have it tomorrow in my pocession
Any one know did they upgrade the brakes and suspension on the v6 trucks? And how bout some gen2 UCA's?? Maybe?

Check the motor mounts every V6 i've owned they have never been changed and are broken and the only thing holding everthing together is a worn out tranny mount. Factory motor mounts go bad in a hurry if they get oil on them. Which is pretty much certain, since there are so many oil leak spots on the 3.0. Don't get me wrong; I love the 3.0 SOHC (I own 5 currently), but it needs some owner TLC to make it a 300,000 engine.

He's got the sickness, too! Cool! His aren't all Montero's/Raider's, though... He's still sorta cool, though

When I bought mine, my mechanics said to religiously change oil and filter. Worked for me. Still no smoke. Find out when timing belt and water pump changed. Check belts. Change all water carrying hoses.

What kills them is heat from the exahust manifolds. Those folks who do not use the heat shields are making it worse.

Checked the mounts today they look good truck is a 91 w/ 140k put on my superwinch hubs grease in the OE autos looked a lil nasty so Monday when I can get some gear oil im gonna do the diff's and tranny and tcase with new oil and of course the motor, intalled new front shocks started to do back ones and I snapped off the stud on the bottom of the leaf spring so...... Im gonna wait for the lubrication to soak in and hopefully not snap any more, gutted and vacuumed interior, need to fix the steering column someone apperantly tried stealing the truck and busted up the steering column plastic and the ingnition lock, need to fix gas tank waiting on a sending unit and theres a small electrical problem with the front turn signals but other then that im good to go
Truck needs some brake work up front either the rotors massivly warped (there for damned sure a lil warped I think) or the caliper has some problems releasing I havent quite decided what Im gonna do debating about pulling the rotor and having it lathed down
And hold on guys Ill get ya a pic of the motor bay the 3.0 looks almost small in it
