The VR4 has had upgrades in brakes, but tires, not really. This car is not light Pushing close to 3500lbs.

Perhaps it would be cheaper, for both of you, if you co-drive Reuben's Miata. Cars in the 3500 lb range are pretty rare to see on track, and they're always driven by guys who have a lot more coin than me. What really sticks out in my mind is that despite the Supra's awesome reputation as a street car, I have never seen one turning laps at an HPDE. I have seen some porky cars though, a 350Z, lots of 3200 lb Corvettes, but then again a lot of those guys don't push their cars very hard, so they don't run through tires & brakes as often as they can afford to. And I did see one track-prepped Cadillac CTS-V, which is a 3800 lb car, but the guy had taken out some unnecessary weight and was running Hoosier R6s.

May be meet Scott there too.

My dad instructs for a big Mazda group, and I try to make their events so I get to meet up with him. They usually do at least 2 weekends at VIR every year. When they release the 2009 schedule, I'll let you know when I'll be down there.
