Need a Spot
Hi all. I want to get a snatch block(about10ton). I see a few brands and there is quite a price disparity. Warn's is about 100$ and yet there are some on ebay of similar design (in looks) for about 30$. Common sense tells me you get what you pay for but does anyone have any lowdown on which blocks to avoid. I'm eyeing up a lokokeck on ebay for about 30$ but am a little suspicious. Who is lokokeck? Don't want to buy some offshore junk thats good for 1 use or even folds up on first use.

Go for it! Always remember the price the big guys charge have lawyers fees and insurence built in.. A snatch block is a simple thing to make and should be in the 30 buck range I'd think.

Check some of the other 4x4 parts websites too. Quadratec & 4x4hardware, etc. LAst I looked you could get lots of name brand blocks for $30 +/-, or whole winching kits (straps, tree savers, gloves, other uselss carp) for around $50. That was a few years ago...but not eons.

I bought this scissors-style block years ago. It's priced in the middle.

Give your local fleet farm type store a gander. Or even a hardware store (not big box) (more mom pop) they prob have 'em.
