How rare are leather seats in a Gen1? My seats are kinda worn and the only way I'd get new ones is if I could get leather, I've been keeping my eye out forever and have yet to find a junkyard or parts rig with leather.

From what I understand it only came in 91 and even then was an option.

Anyone here have leather in their rig or ever seen leather seats at the yard?

Only leather in a Gen1 I know about was on the European models. I didn't think we ever got them here in the US, besides how good would you think that leather would be today? <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/scared.gif" alt="" /> Your better off getting your old seats redone in leather if your really want it.

What he said. Having them redone in leather is your best bet.

Leather was available in Gen 1's in the US, I've seen it, but its rare and by now not usually in good shape. The leather door panels are nice and usally hold up to like new though...

I live in Germany now and have a Gen I with no leather. If you are really interested let me know and I can check as good as I can. When just the covers were shipped it might be possible to do it. Depends on the import tax

Body Damage is Cool
There was no factory option for leather in Gen. I Monteros (hence Raiders)in North America.

Any leather you find in a Gen I is from an aftermarket kit that was available at the time. I've seen one and it was highly...uh...OK. But, that was due maily to the half-assed installation job.

As stated, the best bet is to have your current seats recovered in leather or get some leather Starion seats and mod to fit.
