In past experience, it's usually the brushes worn or the bearing locked up. You've got nothing to lose. So, just gingerly disassemble it and check it out. If it spins free by hand, try polishing the stator and soldering in new brushes. If not, replace the bearing.


It spins free in both directions. Have never rebuilt one but might have to try. Still not sure how to remove motor from the mounting plate.
