Actually the full story is he received a text that his house was ablaze along with his pristine Mercedes Gelõndewagen, & Lambroghini LM-002 which he was lovingly having an oil change done by his onsite mechanic just before he was supposed to pick up his kids at soccer practice and take them to the mall.

So now he'll have to use his ratty H1 (which he keeps at the servants quarters to his 3rd home in Palm Springs) and have it driven up to him.

What he's doing in this picture is coordinating a car detail before having it delivered to the local Starbucks on a flatbed.

All kidding aside, while CA may not be for all people, I certainly won't be leaving to go places like the south where as recently as the late 80's I was openly discriminated against just because I'm not white.

Trade offs everywhere you go ray. There is places here in the DC suburbs that are considered "Little Mexico"

It's the "New South" now Ray On the other hand I walked into a bar in Miami late 80's and they turned the music off and turned around. I did my best "about face" and dashed for the door

I guess that was the 19 80s? OK, but for goodness sakes - it was 20 years ago.

I'm reminded that discrimination is seen most anywhere.... and in all flavors.... reverse options even exist.... particularly here...... and in some places, it would probably even be considered a form of discrimination to not live in a place where discrimination exists.

I can remember feeling that I was discriminated against by Bristol-Myers in the '60s because nearly all management was Irish Catholic and I was a lowly Southern Baptist.... but I didn't refuse to take their paycheck.

It's never fun to be on the pointy end of discrimination, but a lot of things have changed here as in other places. Sometimes, it's a matter of where you go, who you choose as friends and what you expect - but mostly I think that life is what you make of it and how you view yourself - not how others view you.

I suppose if I spent more time in CA, I might think I was discriminated against because those I think are kooks would sense it (or I'd tell 'em they were) and they wouldn't like me very much.

If it's been 20 years, you probably should give it another try. As said, a lot of things have changed - maybe so have you.

Frank, I'm a southern boy and I make out just fine here. I've lived here 34 years and 34 years on the east coast, from Delaware to Georgia.
The only difference is the politics. There are time when you have to , but I'm sure people in Virginia do the same around Chris_J.

So come see us Northern California boys and we'll show you a good time.

PS. When I lived on the East coast, I never met anyone who did not want to come see this great state or any Western state, they are like the folks here, who want to go back East and see all that you have to offer.
