I either found it online somewhere or I downloaded it from myisuzuparts.com. I think I found it somewhere other than my isuzu.

1. Just because the races are pressed in does not mean they're in good shape. Once you remove the bearings, inspect the races for scratches, burned areas, etc. If you determine the races need replacing, buy a matched set of bearings and races. Take all to a reputable machine shop and have them press the old races out and the new ones in. You can do this yourself; it's up to you.

2. Most people who choose to use the "spring scale" method (myself) use a cheap fish scale which can be found in the fishing section at Walmart and other stores.

3. After proper greasing and all the preliminary work, install the outer bearing.

4. Thread the locknut on fairly (pretty darn) tight where it's difficult to spin the hub. Loosen it to where it's fairly tight yet will turn with a bit of effort.

5. Spin the hub several times one direction and then the other.

6. Loosen the nut a little and do the spin routine again.

7. Repeat the tight/loose spin only routine 1 more time (not the cinch it down part).

8. The bearing should be seated after that repeated spinning is performed.

9. Tighten the nut enough where you can spin the hub and there is some obvious drag or resistance.

10. The fish scale should be reading at zero. If not, either on the front or back, turn the calibration screw to set the scale to zero.

11. Place the hook of the scale on a wheel stud which is at a right angle to the hub (12, 3, 6, 9:00 position).

12. Holding the scale with one hand and the hook on a stud. slowly rotate the hub. This is setting the preload of the bearing. The preload is anywhere between 3.5 and 4.75 lbs (arguably). I believe mine are set at 4 lbs.

13. You will need to tighten or loosen the nut a time or two setting this preload.

14. The preload should be set when you are able to begin to rotate the hub when the fish scale reading is 3.5-4.x lbs.

15. I do this at each of the 4 positions (12,3,6,9) to get a good feel and average.

16. If this is performed properly, you should be able to rotate the hub and feel a small drag and there should be no "looseness" to it.

17. When you're satisfied with the preload, install the lockwasher and 3 screws. One side of the washer screw holes is recessed. That side is the outside. Many times, you need to turn the locknut one way or another so the screws align with the screw holes in the locknut.

The end. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/butwiggle.gif" alt="" />
