still sounds like fuel delivery volume problems, and I'd dose it with about two cans of injector cleaner and let it idle for a couple of hours. or blow out the lines. suspect constrictions are fuel pressure regulator, nylon filter on the fuel pickup in the tank, and the screens on top of the injectors, plus maybe some rust/varnish (had this thing sat for a while with the bad pump?) in the lines themselves.

It had sat all summer before i bought it in october, but the prev owners said they started it up periodicly. when the old pump WOULD engage, it didn't bog down or cut out. I guess i'm going to change the fuel filter and see what happens. I'll probablly go ahead and take the pump back out and chen the screen filter in the tank, however this is a new screen filter. Also, the old pump didn't have a screen filter on it...fyi...don't know if thats what caused the pump failure or perhaps caused a blocked line. Thanks for the suggestions/advice.....let me know if anyone thinks of anything and i will update you.

Me and PA_JERO just cut the male end off the hose and clamped it onto the nipple and it works just fine <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Sounds like you're having the 'same' problems as I am. Bogging when giving the 'ole Monte some gas...
Have you checked out my thread: "Poor response when accelerating"? Am waiting for part(s) to replace my fuel tank & fuel pump, due to rust & corrosion.

Hopefully, you'll get yours running.

Thanks for all the great input. Its running consistanly now, although takes a while to start. I put injector/fuel system cleaner and high octane in that seemed to help a bit. I plan to change the f filter next. I just put a new master cylinder on it today and took my first test drive since purchasing the monty. Very exciting <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> Thanks again guys! Oh, almost forgot, I had some problems with the fuel line flare nut where the rubber line met the hard line, but instead of heating it with a torch <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/scared.gif" alt="" /> I drowned it with pb blaster and slipped about a 1.5 ft. pipe over the end of my wrench and that luckily gave me enough extra torque to muscle it off.

Yeah, I tried a weeks worth of PBBlaster soak (twice a day) and a cheater pipe, but it was seized on there tight. I'm really glad you didn't have to use the heat wrench! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />
