You have to drop the pan on the tranny but not much else. You have to disco the throttle valve cable from the throttle valve arm. To do that, you have to pry out the two hard lines, take off the filter screen, remove the 17 valve body bolts, pull up the corner of the valve body and unhook the cable end, pull the valve body out, and drive out the cable retainer from the tranny case with a 10mm socket. Install new cable, rehook, put the valve body bolts back in, put the hard lines and filter back in, and use a new gasket on the pan. This is a job I might leave to tranny shop, as stuff can fall out, like accumulator pistons and valve balls and such, especially when working on your back in unfamiliar territory.
