Does any one have first hand experience replacing the sunroof seal on their Gen I that can share tips/suggestions?

I can't on a GenI but can on my GenII. I had to replace mine due to rust on the seal lip. The design is poor as it traps water/salt in the lip. I had to wire brush, sand and apply rust converter and primer/paint before replacing the seal. Use silicone to glue the seal down and have some spring clamps ready to hold it while the silicone cures. Pay particular attention to gluing the two ends together. I also found that I needed to re-glue the inner roof header in spots. As a warning to others, if you see any lifting of the seal on the outside chances are it is rust and should be looked at asap.
