Well I ripped it apart and found it full of water and rust. I cleaned it up, first with brake clean, worked it around till I dissolved all the old grease. Then I flushed it a few times with straight brake clean. Then I used some 15 40 oil and worked it around a bunch to get the remaining water out, cleaned with brake clean, blew out with compressed air. What I found was that I had water marking on the inner race and on the bearings. So I justed greased it all up and put it back in. Rocky mountain wants 250 for a used shaft. I found a set of new shafts in australia for 250 plus whatever it takes to ship it here. I am sure that the montero outer cv is the same at least as our shafts so I will see if I can locate one on monday. Napa has no listing for our trucks. Even napa usa doesnt show a listing... Problem is it would be a pain to order one from the states and find out it doesnt fit.
