How ironic that a NFL receiver "fumbles" his illegal loaded gun in a nightclub. I'm only happy that the bullet hit his leg and not a bystander. Mandatory 3.5 years if convicted with no plea. Bloomberg is also going after the Hospital that didn't report the shooting. http://www.nydailynews.com/news/ny_...loomberg_fuming_over_plaxico_shoo-3.html

Or, just all out avoid that liberal poop hole.

The .40 makes a nice little hole, and seeing how he likely had hollow points, it probably made a pretty good size hole. It would be hilarious if he crippled his own leg ending his career, this way even if he doesn't get convicted we wouldn't have to hear anything more about him. What a dumb

he would just become a commentator and make up what he lost by doing anti gun ads for the liberals.

Doubtful; no more so than Vick, if he's convicted. He's just another dipstick that doesn't know how to handle a firearm; doesn't read like he even had a holster for it.
Apparently the Giants are playing fine without him.

I have a different take on this. Assuming the guy is not otherwise a criminal and had no criminal intent to harm anyone.
The city of New York hates guns so much that they are willing to throw people in jail for three years just for carrying them. Many of us are trained to believe that most people who carry guns without permits or the legal right to do so are otherwise criminals, but in fact, many people are very much law abiding citizens who simply fear for their lives. A major celebrity like this has even better reason to fear for his life.
There was a law and he broke it and for that reason he should be treated like everyone else. At the very least, he was unsafe with his weapon and should be punished for that. But as a gun rights supporter, I have to seriously question the gun laws of New York and the outragious anti-gun laws that they have.
If this is a felon or had the ability to apply for a conceal permit and just didn't bother, I'd have a different take on the situation.
My other problem is with this idea that hospitals should report to the government about people being injured. People's medical records and injuries are not the business of the government and I don't believe hospitals should be required to report anything. If a crime was committed, the police can investigate the crime and as part of that investigation attempt to subpoena the medical information via a judge.
If we look at everything through this fear of criminals prism we are manipulated to view the world through, it's very easy to give up our rights in return for supposed safety. But it's time we put our rights first, or soon we aren't going to have any to defend.
This would be the libertarian in me talking.

The part about the hospital not reporting the patient I would also agree upon. The only other time I know of hospitals being involved is if the LE contacts them looking for someone with a gunshot wound or the like in order to track someone down after receiving a report.
And yeah, the other thing I got out of reading about it is that he wasn't carrying a permit. I mean geez, the guy's home residence is in Jersey anyway, so...???

While I agree w/you on the right to carry a gun, I don't believe you should even have to have a CWP to carry one, he should simply go to jail just for being an idiot. He obviously doesn't understand anything about Glocks, otherwise he wouldn't have been fingering the trigger with it in his pants.
Also while he is a celebrity(of sorts), he is making millions of dollars a year, as is the organization he plays for. If he felt he needed protection, either he or the Giants could have hired body guards for him. He obviously was just playing "Gangster" and blew a hole in his leg. He gets no sympathy from me and should face as much jail time as anyone else would who accidently shot himself in a NY night club.
