after the trooper got totalled and we were waiting for that to be taken care of, my wife was driving her deceased grandfathers towncar. nice & loaded as it had spent dam near its entire life under a car cover. anywho, she had been driving it awhile and we noticed it was loosing air from a tire... kept filling it. that is, until the tread ripped apart. these aholes took advantage of an old man when he went to buy new tires. they put retreads on it. still waiting to get it resolved. that being said, until now, i never had a problem with them... would even recommend them. when i had the yota, i had a less than desireable insident with a set of railroad tracks and they took care of me in spades. but with this... im still torqued and will continue to be until they replace all 4 tires.

I have seen treads rip apart on reg tires like retreads.mainly because they were old and dryrotted. we just went through our entire stock and destroyed tires older than 07 and 07 to we discounted and 08 to mid 08 we discounted but less than 07.our boss don't fool around.he had a set of the old school goodyear mt's in a 30 x 9.50 that i would have loved but nope would not let me get them, they was dated 98 lol

out of all the jeeps in this town the d**n gremlin had to invade mine

I've done so much, with so little for so long i can practicly do anything with nothing

sure, ive seen that... on my g-pa's caddy. he was so proud that it had like negitive miles... it just sat. in this case though, you can actually see the reminants of the old tread under the new tread. bastards.

so the vice president called me back today. he told me he agrees with me that they did spin the tires but those scratches are not from their machine. he said the scracthes look like they're from concrete or rocks and that i probably took it off road the day before when i washed it and didnt notice them til after i picked it up. i then told him i have the pictures on several different websites and everyone agrees that its from the head of the machine and they will probably loose bussiness over this and he told me that was fine because hes positive its not from a tire machine and that if it was he would have no problem telling me and would get them fixed. i then had to go to class so i told him that and we both hung up. next step BBB?

better off investing in a polishing kit and just write off Discount Tire. Its a fruitless battle IMHO and forum posters, as great as they are here. Don't mean $hit to a guy over the phone.

im inclined to agree with sr, to just cut your losses. but you gotta work the mgr the right way... after all, its the little people that make things happen. the vp doesnt give a crap about a single store, but that mgr certainly cares about his numbers. dont threat unless it comes down to it, but if you do... you dam well better follow up.
cooler heads always prevail.
just out of curisoity... why carry the torch so far if your just gonna skuff up your "bling" on rocks anyways?

ehh im not ready to give up just yet. they know they did it which is why they never called to say it was done. the vp from corporate said he agrees they spun the tires which means he agrees the tires were put on a tire machine and taken off. just like the manager he knows its a young kid and is trying to make me believe his storys. too bad i know a lot more then he thinks.

Yeah, I still think you should "present" this to PBB. They would do this thread justice and treat it like it really should be treated.

Two MRI's and a CAT scan....it's confirmed. I'm just not right in the head.
