So i did a check on it, rolled the window down using direct power to the motor to open the tailgate and the cargo light comes on and off with the tailgate opened and closed so that safety switch should be out of the equation correct?

I noticed the rear wiper and the window washer pump REAR and FRONT didnt work and looking at the pumps and they were rusted all to heck, so bad they looked like they shouldn't work. Sooo, im replacing those monday and hopefully it could be the problem but i doubt it.

What else should i check (rear wiper?)

Jump the limit switch on the rear wiper?

Trace the wiring, figure out where the 12v stops. Is it going in and out of the switch? Past the limit switch on the wiper? Relays?

No power anywhere? Something as simple as a fuse?

couldn't seem to identify the limit switch on the wiper. I did find that with the rear window all the way up

the REAR wiper doesn't turn on with the switch but it does with direct power

the REAR washer nor the FRONT windshield washer is getting power

The 'int' windshield wiper speed doesnot work but the others do.

so it seams like it could be the relay maybe? I checked all fuses and theyre all good. Any takers on the relay? And would that relay cause the rear window to stop working?

Thanks,
Buddy

ok after searching my butt off, i found that the wiper/washer problem is more than likely the Wiper control switch, so that will be replaced (if i can find one)....but.....would that keep the rear window from working? Thanks,

Buddy

I took the wiper control switch apart and found 2 broken wires at the solder points at the board. Soldered them back in and fixed the wiper issue but now the rear window "down" switch on the console doesn't click anymore from the rear window module but it still does using the key on the back door and still nothing at all in the "up" direction on either switch.

Where is the wiper 'home' switch and how do i check it?

more than once. Does anyone think a bad console switch would cause the system not to work, even the rear switch?

you could jumper the switches then to test that right?!

it is a big pain to troubleshoot problems like this. i know!

if it were me i would start at the key switch and move forward. jumper key switch at rear. make sure motor is getting power after relay is activated. make sure relay activates.

Eliminate all the safety features or jumper them. do this carefully in case the window suddenly activates!.

This is all just general knowledge on my part. Our 92 4 runner has very slow moving rear window. i know it is full of dirt and has been smacked around a lot too.some day we may fix it.
