guys and gals............ this small but annoying problem has me tearing my hair out..... i am a mechanic and have been for about 16years and this has got me....... front hubs........have a set of AVM freewheeling manual hubs on my sporty..... every time i go for a wheel or do some serious off road work... the 6 bolts that hold the back half of the hub to the car either come loose and/or they break/ snap...... and the hub is then loose..... have tryed EVERYTHING ..... doweling the hubs the flange.....using a different grade bolt...... am using grade 12.9 bolts at the moment......taken 1thou of the flange where the hubs bolts to .....milled it to get them to sit flat......all sorts of stuff....... drilled and tapped all the bolt holes 1 size bigger.....am now using a 8mm thread instead of the 6mm.......but it still does it.......... after about the 5-6 off road run...... gotta pull it down and remove broken bolts...... and its driving me crazy........ any light on this subject would be greatly apprecitated.....
Cheers Ads
