Hi all,

My '88 Raider runs great around town. Up at highway speeds though, I begin to get what feels like fuel exhaustion after 10-15 minutes. The engine will cut completely in and out. If I back off 5-10 mph, I can drive another 5-10 minutes before it starts to happen again. I can continue slowing to keep under the "shelf" where the engine begins to cut in and out, until I can only maintain around 30 mph. If I pull over and completely stop for 3-5 minutes, when I get going again I'll get another full 10-15 minutes before the problems start.

Again, around town it's great all day.

It feels just like fuel exhaustion, which made me wonder if something is up with the Weber carb. Or maybe the cat? A shop looked at it today and said I had a burned valve on the #2 cylinder. That may be, but it doesn't seem like a burned valve would cause the engine to run fine around town, and cut out only after several minutes on the highway.

Whatcha think? thnx.
