I've taken measurements and gone to 2 different 4x4 places (biggest and most popular in SoCal) and nothing really seems to match up length wise.

I'd hate to cut the perches but its looking that way. I need to do this before any of the Dec Death Valley runs because they are just too saggy now.

1. I don't want to re-arch (they are 23 years old)
2. I already have a add-a-leaf from '99 i put in there

3. New leafs would rock !! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

any suggestions ? (yeah, it's called my Miller Mig unit)

Called them, cool people and very knowledgeable but unfortunately, there's only 1 company around that still makes em (Dayton) and they are special order and $300 a piece.

YIKES. I don't want old factory springs that have been sitting in a warehouse for ages so.. Don't know what's next..

He's still looking to see what'll match the dimensions. If anybody else has an idea, I'd appreciate it..

2.3/4"width
1.5/8"thick
47.25" span
7.5" arch

is the specs for a 1st gen SWB Monte. Need to find something that's REALLY close...

Or its Miller Time <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />

What's wrong with them sitting in a warehouse? They aren't fatiguing when stored this way and so long as they're no rust/oxidation on them you should be fine.

Don't know about Deaver, but looking on the web and custom springs are not cheap. $300/per spring is about the avg going rate, so calculate that + another $150 for shipping + new bushings and I'm sitting at $800 for a new rear setup.

The price from my buddy at the dealer with 20% is $363 (PN# MB242814) and those are avail only from vintage.

My only issue I see is this, springs sitting for long periods do loose their rate. I've read a few articles about this. I don't really want to be paying premium for 15year old springs..

Oh yeah.. CA tax too <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/scared.gif" alt="" />

Never heard of springs loosing their rate by sitting on the shelf. I would like to see/read the article with the reasoning behind that one <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

That being said, you can try going custom with these guys. Shop is in El Cajon CA just east of SD

Ok, Robert at National Spring pretty much said the same thing as all the others, custom, and $695, or since the width is the same...

"cut the damn things and put HEEP springs that are avail for $100/pr and be done with it already!" <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/notooth.gif" alt="" />

The widths are the same, and I can pretty much get ANY load range I want for any price I want.... I just have to start doing frame mods...

Anywho, DrivetrainDirect can't even order anymore. Only coils for OME show up now, they're springs are not avail anymore.

So.. looks more like its "miller time" <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />

Just have to make damn sure i get both side perfectly straight !! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />

As far as this month's trips go, i don't think I'll be ready.. alot of holiday stuff going on.. dunno yet.. Have to find some springs first!
