Don't get me wrong. I'm sure most southerners aren't like this but the sad thing is there are enough who share this mentality that its a real blemish to that part of our otherwise great country.

Guess he should look at the Toyota VINs a little closer. Yeah, guys like that were a turnoff while I was stationed down there.

Toyota Nissan Mitsubishi Volkswagon Subaru (just to name a few) all have plants here in the US. Wonder what his tune will be like if China buys Ford?

I don't understand what he means by "rice ready". If it's supposed to be some sort of insult, it falls short and doesn't make much sense - particularly coming from a South Carolinian.

South Carolina's early fortunes were built on rice plantations and aside from rice being SC's biggest cash crop in the early years, to this day South Carolinians (including me) probably eat more rice per capita than most folks in the world.

Rice is a good thing.

That fella's probably not a local - maybe he moved here from somewhere else (ahem) and used all of his retirement funds to buy a car dealership.

Not that I approve of the context but we used to call our Japanese motorcycles "rice rockets". I really dont think we should so sensitive that a food staple for a certain region becomes an insult. However if a person decides to go around dropping slurs in an insultive manner then he should pretty much expect to get his arse kicked occasionally.

I would'nt care if someone called a Ford an "apple pie mobile".

I don't care so much regarding that. I'm concerned about him owning a car dealership and not realizing how much of our economy is tied to japanese vehicles selling just as well as a vehicle from the big 3. Heck doesn't he know they're built here too!

Fricken bonehead is an embarrassment to America!!

Speaking of Apple Pie... arghhhh (picture homer simpson salivating) gotta go home for lunch and have some now.
