I don't care so much regarding that. I'm concerned about him owning a car dealership and not realizing how much of our economy is tied to japanese vehicles selling just as well as a vehicle from the big 3. Heck doesn't he know they're built here too!
Yea no doubt that guy was an ass.

Toyota spokesman Xavier Dominicis said the company's cars consistently receive high marks for quality. The automaker employs 36,600 Americans, he said, and about 60 percent of Toyota vehicles sold in the U.S. were manufactured here.

I prefer the 40 percent made in Japan

I can kind of see where he's coming from though. Could be he's my grandfather's age, and fought in WWII...maybe he finds it difficult to get over that. If you had Germans and Japanese soldiers trying to kill you, and spent years trying to kill them, you might not want to drive one of their cars regardless of price/quality.

I haven't had a domestic made vehicle as my primary vehicle since 85...that was a '76 Monza. You can guess what kind of luck I had with THAT. I love my Japanese bikes and cars...but sometimes I feel that it is not very patriotic. Should I spend the extra money and deal with the extra hassles to be a better citizen? I'm on the fence I guess. If I had my way, the US would produce vehicles with similiar quality as the Honda, Suzuki & Mitsu's I've owned.

How do you support your country, and buy almost nothing made here? I was thinking about all the "stuff" I own...guns are about the only thing made here that aren't junk.

Things like this that make me uncomfortable in the south...

Ray, my very good friend, being from the south, I fine your statement to be just as bad as his statement. Just because there is one bad egg in the carton does not mean the rest are bad. Us Southerns are the real thing, well most of us anyway.
You need to look no farther than California to find wacko's.

I know you met no harm, so you are still welcome at the GrassCat's compound with open arms.

Y'all may fail to grasp one of the essences of S'uthin.

Here, we allow a man to make an ass of himself, as it's his right, and we don't much fool with the snakes in his head, 'cause it's his head, see. However much we may regret that the idjit said it. In the long haul, the people will speak. He's one of the 3 basic things wrong with the US auto industry. A dealership at every crossroads is a little much, and the unions are a little much, and the management mostly doesn't...

Yes, buying a vehicle from a US-based company has done wonders for these companies and our economy.

After decades of producing crap, reaping profits from it but not making investments for the future, being technologically and stylistically stale, I say if the Big 2.5 are at risk of failing, adi-frickin'-os. It may be the best thing to happen to the domestic auto industry - the rise of a new one, better equipped for the 21st century.

Honda employs more people in Ohio than GM. For those aware of the influence of GM in Ohio, this is staggering.

This dealer is likely scared shitless that his business will fail b/c he has crap product, thus the idiocy.
