I am new to this site and wanted to get you guys preference on a lift kit for my Isuzu. I have been looking around at a bunch of websites for a small lift for my 99 Trooper. I have found some that are more pricey than others, and I was wondering what would be a good suspension lift for my Isuzu.

I would go with anything that you find on Independent4x.com The owner of the company has wheeled troopers for many years now. He and his crew have designed a lot of the stuff they have especially for Isuzus. And the pieces they purchase have been thoroughly tested on an Isuzu.
Customer service is unbeatable and they have a knowledge-base second to none.
Also I like knowing that I am supporting of of "our own".

After you get a lift the very next thing that you should do is add boulder bars (rock rails, rocker bars, etc) the will protect your rig from some very nasty dents, and add a lot of confidence to your wheeling.

Thanks for writting back. I saw the lift kit on Independent4x, and it did look pretty well put together. I mean they have the put a few different company's together. I find it very interesting. I don't know if i am a big enough wheeler to get the bars yet, but i will consider it. Once again thanks for writing back, i appreciate it.

Well, that's kinda the point... See -- a "big enough wheeler" either would be skilled and experienced enough not to smack up his/her rocker panels... Or they would be numb enough to body damage not to care.

I'm gonna throw in my 2 cents to vote for Matt at Indy4x as well... Lemmie tell you a little story about Matt. One year, the two of us were headed out to Moab Zu Zoo... He was flying, and I was driving. At the time, my vehicle of choice was a 90 Trooper -- exactly like Matt's 90 (91?) Trooper, except mine was stock, and Matt's was all done up...

So we came up with this plan -- since Matt was just starting out in the business, we would put all of his products onto my truck so he could showcase them at the Zu Zoo event... And it would give me a much better vehicle to wheel in Moab...

So I drove out to Brooklyn (that's where Matt was running his business from at the time) and the two of us spent, oh, I dunno... Maybe 20 hours or so swapping all the modification parts from his Trooper onto mine...

A day or two later... Some bugs I had been working on with my Trooper just weren't worked out. I forget exactly what the issues were, it's been a long time. But regardless... It wasn't looking good for me to make it to Moab...

Then Matt and I got to talking.... And ya know what? Back to Brooklyn I went... We spent another 18 hours or so (we got a little better at it...) swapping everything back to his Trooper.... Then he gave me the keys and off I went, on my way to Moab - do not pass go, do not collect $200, go directly to Moab from Brooklyn. Matt got on his plane and 40 hours later or so, we were both in Moab.

Those were the good old days... But remember, the tremendously kind and generous people of this board -- they were no different from anyone else at some point. I'd have to check the Way Back Machine to see if there's any pictures of the first time I met Matt. His truck was so little, and cute.

Here's a pic of Matt's truck in Moab, after it was disassembled to mod my truck, then reassembled because of my truck not working, then driven 36 hours straight to Moab...

Now THAT's customer service for ya! smile

My vote is for Matt at independent4x you will find his customer service better than most, i have been dealing with Matt for 8 or 9 years now and pretty much buy everything from him, when i did my sas he help me so much over the phone i could'nt beleive the amount of info this man has in his head. You will not be dissapointed, if you don't beleive me go ask about Matt on planetisuzu or pirate4x4. Take care Don

Indy4x is about the only company supporting Isuzus with any seriousness...support 'em if you can. And yes Matt is a great guy and he will take care of you (without making you bend over).
