Not on my '86; I trust you're referring to the panel bulbs, yes?

I remeber some vehicle I worked on that when a tailight was out it would turn on the brake light but i doubt our older models have that feature. Maybe i'm thinkin of my moms highlander?

IS there a problem with the e-brake switch? Go under the dash and press it in to check.

Thanks Don

I've had this problem on my 91 for a while now. Light stays on dimly ever after the e-brake is off. There is a definite change in the brightness with it on and off. Every once in a while the light will go off completely too. I have replaced the pads and the rotors, and put in a new m/c but it didn't change. I was told it could be the sensor in the resovoir cap but I haven't got around to changing it.

That shouldn't be too tough to check. Just unplug the reservoir cap wire and see if it goes off.

Thanks Guys it was the brake light switch. If I push it in it will go off. When I put the brake handel in the tang that pushes the switch in has to be just right. It wants to slide of to she side of the switch.

Thanks
